1888 Sending that old turkey gobbler by express

William Abram O’Kelly to his wife Georgiana Van Emburgh O’Kelly

Monroe, Louisiana December 18th, 1888 to Hotel Dieu, New Orleans, Louisiana

Darling,

I hope you are much better by this time and that you will continue improve.

The baby [William Abram O’Kelly Jr.] has not cut any new teeth yet, but he is getting along very well. We are going to try to send Tom [Thomas Swan O’Kelly] that old turkey gobbler today. We will have to send him by express.

Do not fail to write us often as you can.

[The children] Jennie, Sonny and Bootsie are doing very well.

All send you an abundance of love and kisses enough to last you all day.

Your affectionate husband

William A O’Kelly
